ABOUT ME
I'm an exhibit and experiential designer based in Richmond, Virginia.
I came to this work through industrial design, and I still think like one: how a thing gets built is part of how I decide what it should be. I've prototyped, laser cut, CNC'd and sewn most of what I've designed, which means I know early whether an idea survives contact with a shop.
For the Explore More Discovery Museum we designed a two-story stairwell as a walk up the Appalachian Trail - Georgia at the bottom, Maine at the top - using an existing child-height handrail as the spine of the route. I built it full scale and presented it to museum staff and Appalachian Trail Conservancy representatives.
I'm working toward exhibit design full time, in New York, at studios where making and thinking both count.
